Brothers: our next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday,
March 9, 2010 at 7:30PM in the AHEPA
Conference Room of the Ascension
Cathedral, 4700 Lincoln Ave.
At our February meeting we had the District Lodge Visitation
and we welcomed them with a spaghetti,
salad and garlic bread dinner. We are
grateful to Harry Metaxas for chairing
the dinner event, Ben Gipson who
procured the refreshments and sister
Ceil Koplos who provided the desert.
Thank you all for making it a very
pleasant event. We had over twenty
brothers that attended; it was a very
successful and productive meeting.
The Spring Conference is March 6th in Vallejo. If
you want to attend and you need a ride,
let me know and we can try to make
travel arrangement with a brother
attending.
The main items to be discussed in our next meeting are: The
2010 Chapter Budget (because we had no
time during our February meeting) and an
update on the Chapter’s By-Laws that we
are working on. And if everything goes
as planned Gary Sostchen will be
initiated and become a member of the
AHEPA Family.
Applications for the District Scholarship can be obtained
from the Chapter President or the
Chapter Secretary. To qualify a student
must submit his/her application to the
District Scholarship Committee by April
1, 2010. This program is available to
all AHEPANS, Sons of Pericles, Maids of
Athena, Daughters of Penelope or
children of Ahepans, Daughters of
Penelope or, with certain conditions,
orphans of Ahepans, or grandchildren of
Ahepans, or deceased Ahepans. The
qualifications are listed in the
application.
Tickets for the District Charitable Raffle are now available
from George Booras. The ticket price is
$100.00 each.
As I said before, sending the bulletin by regular mail is
time consuming and expensive. If the
Chapter secretary has your email, please
check your email for this month’s and
all future bulletins. If you have not
paid your dues yet, the yearly dues are
$60.00, and forward your check to our
Chapter’s secretary. His address is
listed above.
